Veteran and family owned. Free estimates and a 3 year warranty on springs.
Carmel homes tend to have bigger garages and bigger doors. Three car garages, insulated steel doors, and carriage style doors with windows are all common here. A bigger door is a heavier door, and that weight lands on the springs, cables, and opener every time it moves.
Bart's Garage Doors is a veteran and family owned business based on the west side in Avon. When you call, you talk to the owner, and the owner is the one who shows up, looks at your door, and gives you the full price before any work starts.
The springs do the lifting, not the opener. On a heavy 16 foot door, that usually means two torsion springs working together on the bar above the door. When one snaps, the door suddenly weighs a few hundred pounds, the opener strains or quits, and your car stays put.
Signs a spring has broken:
We replace the springs, check the cables, drums, and bearings while we are there, and balance the door so it runs smooth. Whenever the door allows it, we install higher cycle springs instead of the standard builder grade.
Every torsion spring we install is covered for 3 years, parts and labor.
A tune up catches small problems before they turn into a broken spring or a door stuck halfway. Here is what we do:
$69, or $59 total during our fall special through November 30.
Noisy doors. A lot of Carmel homes have a bonus room or bedroom over the garage, where every rattle and squeal comes right through the floor. Worn metal rollers are usually the cause. Quieter nylon rollers and a good lube make a big difference.
Cables and off track doors. A frayed cable or a door hanging crooked is a safety problem. Leave it closed and call us. We replace the cable, reset the door in the track, and balance it.
Openers. We repair the opener you have or install a new LiftMaster, including quiet belt drive models and wall mount openers that free up the ceiling in tall garages.
New doors. Steel, insulated, with or without windows. We help you choose a door that fits your home and your HOA, then install it. See our doors and openers
Yes, in most cases. Most two car and three car doors in Carmel run on a pair of torsion springs that were installed on the same day. When one breaks, the other has done the same amount of work and is usually not far behind. Replacing both keeps the door balanced and saves you a second visit. We will always give you both prices so you can choose.
It depends on the cycle rating. One cycle is one open and one close. The standard springs most builders install are rated for about 10,000 cycles. A family that uses the door four times a day goes through about 1,400 cycles a year, so those springs last around 7 years. We install higher cycle springs whenever the door allows it, which pushes your next replacement years further out.
Torsion springs installed by Bart's Garage Doors are covered for 3 years from the install date, parts and labor. Other repairs are covered 90 days on labor and 1 year on parts. The warranty does not cover accidents, misuse, or work done by others.
Once a year is right for most homes. Fall is the best time, before cold weather makes worn springs and cables more likely to fail. A tune up is $69, or $59 total during our fall special through November 30.
Many Carmel neighborhoods have rules on garage door style, color, and windows, so check with your HOA before you order. We can give you the brochure and details for the door you choose so you can submit it for approval. See our doors and brochures
